CustomBooks™ Advanced Barcoder is a powerful feature designed to simplify the process of scanning multiple items at once using virtually any compatible barcode scanner. This extension enhances the standard barcode functionality by enabling you to scan both individual items and lot numbers. It is built to save businesses time and improve efficiency by streamlining the inventory management process, as it automatically increments the quantity on documents by one each time an item is scanned, ensuring accurate receiving records.

Installation

To install the Advanced Barcoder extension:
  1. From the left-side menu, navigate to Extensions > Extension Store.
  2. Double-click the Advanced Barcoder extension.
  3. In the pop-up window, click Install.

  • Cash Sales

Item Setup

For the Advanced Barcoder to recognize your items, each item must have a UPC (Universal Product Code) entered on its Item Card. The codes should be entered directly into the UPC field.

To enter a UPC,
  1. Navigate to Lists > Items, open the item.
  2. Go to Setup tab, and enter the code in the UPC field.




How to Use

To use the extension, locate the Options dropdown menu next to the Add and Copy buttons near the line items. From this menu, select Add items using barcode. A window will pop up, and you can begin scanning.
