AvaTax Setup

Getting Setup with Avalara's Avatax


In order to use AvaTax, you’ll need an Avalara account number and a License Key. These two pieces allow CustomBooks™ to connect your account with Avalara to complete sales tax transactions. There are two ways to obtain these.
  1. Get your own Avalara Account on the AvaTax website.

Describe your sales tax situation and Avalara will provide you with the proper tools and software that will meet your specific needs.

  1. Use CustomBooks™ pooled Avalara account.

Depending on the volume of sales tax transactions needed, one option may be more economical that they other for your specific situation. CustomBooks™ suggests researching which option will best suit your company’s specific needs.

We highly suggest enrolling in Avalara University and enrolling and completing the Avatax Learning Path which will walk you through setting everything up in Avalara before you integrate your account in CustomBooks™.
