CustomBooks™ Release Notes | Labrador 2025.11.20

We're excited to announce the release of CustomBooks™ Labrador 2025.11.20, bringing a new feature and several improvements to your experience!

This update includes:
  1. A major New Feature to enhance Cloud Payroll management.
  2. Key Improvements in Documents, Chart of Accounts, Reports, and Integrations.

New Feature!

Cloud Payroll

  1. Cloud Payroll Users: When accessing Employee Management via the Payroll menu, this flow is now improved with more capabilities including adding employees or editing or modifying existing employees. View employees across tabs for ‘Active’, ‘Onboarding’, or ‘Dismissed’, to easily manage employee-related payroll matters.

Improvements

Documents

  1. Item Receipts that have been Billed previously resulted in an error when a Purchase Return was attempted from the Item Receipt. This option is now removed. Please create Purchase Returns via the generate option in the Bill rather than the Item Receipt.
  2. Sales invoices can now be resaved or moved back to a draft, even if they are associated with voided cash receipts.
  3. To better align with internal control practices, the prompt to put a Sales Invoice back to draft when voiding a Cash Receipt is now removed. If the Sales Invoices does need to be canceled as well, we recommend using our new Void feature for Sales Invoices.

Chart of Accounts: General Ledger Account Card

  1. In the Account Card for Cash and Cash Equivalents types, the ability to hide bank account numbers was enhanced. Now, only the last four digits of the account will be visible if ‘Show’ is not selected.

Reports

  1. To align with general reporting standards, a subtotal for Total Liabilities was added to the Balance Sheet Standard and Balance Sheet Comparative reports.

Integrations: Avalara

  1. Tax Codes: When saving a Quote or Cash Sale, if an Item in the document has a Tax Code selected, that code will auto-populate into the sales document.

Dashboard/Client Portal

  1. Partners will no longer be able to give Clients their Partner Discount when Client is paying for the subscription through a Trial Invite. Partner will still get credit for their client however.
