Welcome to the CustomBooks™ Labrador 2026.09.17 update! This release introduces simple fixes and updates to help your work run more smoothly. Key changes include fixing report filters in the General Ledger, making it easier to match multiple bills in Cloud Banking, and giving Playground accounts a new blue background so you can quickly spot your test spaces. We also updated menu names for file imports and improved how annual billing charges are handled.
Improvements
Reports
General Ledger Report: Transaction Filter Correction
We have resolved a user interface and logical defect within the General Ledger Report filter engine. Previously, when executing a report in Analyze mode and utilizing the transaction-level filtering dropdown, the inverted-filter checkbox option "Show items not selected" was visible.
Activating this checkbox under a transaction filter context caused an application error where the system incorrectly restricted the visible data view to expose only Bank Transfers across all periods while clearing out any previously established parameters.
Because an inverted-filter model is intended for bounded operational tracking categories (such as isolating specific Projects or Classes) but is structurally ambiguous and problematic for transaction records , this release completely removes the erroneous control toggle from the transaction filter panel.
How It Works
The configuration mechanics underlying report layout options have been updated to optimize standard data filtering:
- Context-Aware Control Selection: The background interface manager (ReportFormACS.ShowHideCheckList) has been rewritten to actively recognize the underlying entity dimension type.
- Targeted Hiding Rule: If the active filtering parameter is a transaction row entity, the checkbox labeled "Show items not selected" is hidden from the sidebar properties array automatically.
- Preservation of Multi-Filter Arrays: Standard transaction selections (such as filtering by specific Bill Payments, Deposits, or Refunds) now update dynamically and save cleanly without risk of background script loops dropping your historical parameters.
How It Helps
- Eliminates UI Complexity: Removing an ambiguous control format cuts down on layout confusion, preventing accounting staff from accidentally altering active filter sets during deep forensic general ledger audits.
- Protects Audit Visibility: Resolves data dropping issues where toggling lookups accidentally forced all standard transaction listings to reset, saving users from manually rebuilding multi-field queries.
- Guarantees Predictable Behavior: Ensures the General Ledger filtering engine provides a uniform and stable navigation path matching the remaining reporting tools across the application.
Cloud Banking
Cloud Banking: Document Matching from Unapplied Balance Sub-Lines
We have improved the multi-document matching workflow within Cloud Banking. Previously, when partially matching a bank feed transaction against a single vendor bill or customer invoice, the remaining unapplied balance was placed on a split sub-line defaulted to AP/AR and labeled "New".
However, the "New" hyperlink on that split sub-line was disabled and non-clickable. Users attempting to allocate the remaining balance across additional bills or invoices were unable to do so directly from the sub-line, forcing them to restart the process or navigate back to the parent-level "Match" link.
This update activates the "New" link on split sub-lines, enabling direct multi-document matching.
How It Works
The interaction model for split transaction sub-lines has been updated:
- Active Sub-Line Link: The "New" text on an unapplied balance sub-line is now an active, clickable hyperlink.
- Pre-Filtered Matching Drawer: Clicking "New" on an unapplied sub-line opens the document matching window, pre-filtered for the remaining unapplied transaction balance.
- Seamless Multi-Doc Match: Users can select additional open bills or invoices directly from this drawer until the entire bank transaction amount is fully matched and allocated across sub-lines.
How It Helps
- Accelerates Reconciliation: Eliminates extra navigation steps when matching bulk payouts or receipts against multiple open invoices or bills.
- Intuitive Interface: Allows accounting teams to process split sub-lines directly without restarting matching workflows.
- Reduces Allocation Errors: Ensures remaining unapplied balances can be matched immediately against open records.
Chart of Accounts
We have simplified the import options within the Chart of Accounts menu. The option previously labeled "From File" has been updated to "From CSV File" to make file format selection clearer and prevent import errors.
Playgrounds
New Background Color for Playground Tenants
To eliminate confusion between environments, we have updated the interface styling rules to distinguish Playground / Demobase accounts from standard Test Companies. Previously, both tenant configurations shared identical layout coloring, making it easy for users to mistake one testing workspace for another.
How It Works
The platform's interface color parameters have been updated with distinct visual layouts:
- Blue Theme for Playgrounds: All Demobase and Playground workspaces now automatically load with a bright blue background interface color.
- Legibility Retention: The selected color tone has been optimized to ensure that standard black application text, WalkMe navigation overlays, and app launchers remain perfectly readable.
- Visual Grid Matrix: This layout works alongside our alternative staging formats, including the standard salmon-pink background used exclusively for standalone Sandbox environments.
Billing
Updated annual billing user options, so that new annual subscriptions will be prorated and added to unbilled charges until the next months' billing date. On this date, the unbilled charges plus the annual amount will be charged.
