Handling Duplicates That Are Not The Same

Overview

When importing data into CustomBooks™, you may encounter a situation where some of the records you are trying to import already exist in your company.    In these cases, you may wish to ignore these records or you may wish to update them with information from your import file.     This article will describe how the import tool works with regards to duplicates and how to achieve the results you are looking for when importing.

Duplicate/Existing Record Determination

CustomBooks™ will look at the key field(s)  in the data import tool and in the existing data to determine if the record is a new one or one that already exists upon import into the staging area.     Below is a list of import objects and the fields used to determine this.
