How do I customize the layout of the screen?

Modifying the Layout of the User Interface

CustomBooks has an extremely flexible user interface that can be modified to suit each individual user. The workspace is divided up into two header areas (1 in the image below), two sidebar areas (2 below), the main workspace area, and a footer area (3 below).

The configurable workspace elements include the main menu, the sub-menu, the toolbar, the history panel, the favorites panel and the open items tabs. These items may be moved into any of the areas listed above with the exception of the main workspace area, which is reserved.

To change the layout of the workspace,

  1. Click the yellow circle with a down arrow in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. This will reveal a menu.
  2. Choose View → Panel Setup. The Panel Editor will open.
  3. Drag each element into the section where you would like it to appear on the screen. Elements put at the bottom will not appear in the interface (see 4 below).
  4. Click Apply to see the changes or Ok to Save the changes.

You may rest the panels to the default setting by clicking the Default button.
