Open the Data Import Wizard. Navigate to Admin Panel > Data Import Wizard. On the Data Import: List tab, select "Items."
Move to the next step. On the Import Tool: Data Relationships Tab, click "Next." The import template for items can also be exported from this screen.
Choose the data import mode. On the Selection/Mapping Tab, click the "Items" button. Select the import mode "Import data from a file," and then select or drag and drop the source file (import template) from your computer. Other import modes are also available, such as "Import data manually or copy and paste from a spreadsheet," "Reuse the previous files," or "Restore your recent data import session."
Map the fields. After successfully uploading the source file, choose "Map fields by Headers," and then click "Save and Close".
Import data to staging records. From the Items Mapping Preview screen, select "Update Existing CustomBooks Record Only." Review the data to be imported and then click the "Import to Staging" button.
Verify staging data. The Staging Data Tab will check for errors in the uploaded data. Errors can be corrected by double-clicking the record with the error to open the staging record. Click the "Verify Staging Data" button, and once all records are verified, select "Create CustomBooks Data."
Create/update data. Click the "Import Staging Data into CustomBooks" button to begin updating the existing data. After the items have been successfully updated, click "OK" and go to the Explore Data Tab to view the updated list of items. Alternatively, you can proceed to "Staging: Clean Up" (optional).
