Item Categories in CustomBooks™
Item Categories allow you to group products and services for better organization, pricing, and reporting. They can be used alongside the Price Matrix to create a complex pricing structure or to simplify the entry of pricing data in CustomBooks™. Once defined, Item Categories can be associated with items and applied to the Price Matrix for pricing purposes.
Viewing Item Categories
To view the list of item categories:
- Navigate to Lists > Item Categories or Inventory > Item Categories.
Creating Item Categories
- Go to Lists > Item Categories or Inventory > Item Categories.
- Click Create > New.
- Enter a Description for the item category.
- Click Save or Save and Close to save the item category.
Note: Item Categories can be copied. Select the item category you want to copy, click Create > Copy, make any necessary changes, and then click Save or Save and Close.
Deleting an Item Category
- Navigate to Lists > Item Categories or Inventory > Item Categories.
- Select the item category you want to delete.
- Click More Actions > Edit > Delete, or right-click the item category, select Edit > Delete.
