2024 Price Increase FAQ

Note: This article applies to users who have subscriptions created before 2018. If your subscription was created after this date. this article will not apply to you.

Why is the pricing being adjusted?

As we enhance our software's capabilities, adjusting our prices becomes necessary to sustain the development of new features. We encourage you to compare CustomBooks™ with similar products on the market; we believe our software still represents an excellent value.

Will the price of my current subscriptions increase?

No. The pricing of your current subscriptions will not increase. We thank you for your loyalty and appreciate all of the help you have given us in making our software better.

Will my pricing change if I switch to an Annual plan?

Yes, original subscription pricing applies only to your existing monthly plan. If you switch to an annual plan, your subscription will be priced according to our current rates.

How can I maintain my original pricing?

To keep your original pricing, simply continue with your current subscription, ensuring your account remains active and payments are up to date. This special pricing is our way of thanking you for your loyalty and long-term commitment. Changing to a different plan would subject your subscription to our new pricing structure.

Can I create additional subscriptions with the original pricing?

Yes. new subscriptions in the same monthly plan may be created at the original pricing.
Regarding Annual Pricing vs. Monthly Pricing:
When you became a customer, we promised to never increase the price of your current subscription as long as you remained with us, and we're committed to that promise. The annual pricing you're seeing is based on our software's current market rate. When you switch to an annual plan, you're transitioning from your current (grandfathered) plan to a new pricing structure. To keep your original pricing, you need to stay on your current plan.

Billing

How are my subscriptions billed?

You will be invoiced and charged on your monthly billing day for any subscriptions that are due for the following month. Subscriptions are billed in advance for the upcoming period. Your billing day is set to the day of the month when you first subscribed to the software. If you have multiple subscriptions, your billing day is the same for all of them, ensuring you get one invoice each month that is consolidated.*

For monthly plans, a pro-rated amount for the time between the subscription date and the your next billing day will be added to your next invoice. On the next billing day you will be billed for the next month’s subscription plus the pro-rated amount that was accrued.
For annual plans, you will be invoiced and charged on your subscription date for the pro-rated amount between the subscription date and your next billing day. On billing day you will be invoiced and charged for the full annual amount and won’t be invoiced again for the subscription until the next one year on the billing day.

Cancelled Subscriptions

Cancelled subscriptions will remain active until the end of the billing period and will not be renewed.

*There are certain conditions that will cause more than one invoice in a month to be created for you. These conditions include:
  1. Having more than one profile (profiles are defined by email addresses)
  2. Subscribing to an annual plan on a day that is not your billing day when you have existing active monthly plans.
  3. Subscribing to an annual plan when you have existing annual plans.
