Admin Tools: Security Log

Overview


The Security Log in CustomBooks™ provides a detailed audit trail of all changes to the users and user profiles within an account. It allows administrators and authorized users to see who made the changes, what was changed, and when the activity occurred.

Security Logs track updates made to both users and user profiles, helping ensure transparency and data integrity across your organization.

What is the Security Log?


The Security Log is a system-generated history of user actions. It records important activities such as:
  1. Creating, editing, or deleting user records.
  2. Updating user profiles or permissions.
Each entry shows exactly which user performed the action and which record was affected.



How to Access the Security Log


  1. Navigate to Admin Panel
  2. Click Security Log

Security Log Filters


The Security Log includes powerful filtering options that make it easy to locate specific activities:
  1. Record Type - Filters the type of record that was changed (User or User Profile).
  2. User - Shows actions performed by a specific user on the account.
  3. Record - Allows you to search for a specific user name or email that was modified.
  4. User Action - Filters by the type of activity performed, such as:
    1. Created
    2. Changed
    3. Deleted
    4. System Processing
    5. Cleared Posting
  5. Search Records - Lets you search for keywords related to the record or change.
  6. Date - Filters results by a specific date or date range to review activity within a certain period.

Show Revision Details


Each user record in the Security Log has a revision number, which indicates the time or sequence the record was modified. You can click Show Revision Details for each record and compare them to see exactly what changes were made to that record.
